Lake Wappapello Park Ranger Says Gator Was About A 4-Footer

(Wappapello) It may have surprised you last week if you heard the story about what was caught out of Lake Wappapello.

Andrew Jefferson is a natural resources specialist park ranger with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the lake.

We asked him if an alligator was really caught in the large Wayne County recreational body of water.

As for the kids fishing event last weekend, Jefferson says the young anglers had no surprise catches but they had a good time.

Ranger Willie’s Wet and Wild Water Festival, which promotes water safety, is coming up on Saturday, June 24th at Lake Wappapello.

On Friday night, June 30th at dusk at the spillway at Lake Wappapello, don’t miss Movie in the Park which is free to attend.
