(DESOTO) DeSoto football’s Landon Porter recently added a Dream Team selection to his resume this year that also includes making 1st-team All-Conference as an offensive and defensive lineman.

Landon describes the moment he found out he made the Dream Team.

One of the best feelings for Landon this season was helping lead the Dragons to their best finish in districts and conference in over 10 years.

The Dragons finished 5th in the Class 4 District 1 standings and went 3-1 in the Mississippi Area Red Conference.

One of the cool things for Landon this season was getting to continue the tradition that was started several years ago where after a victory, a senior revs up the troops with an old Ric Flair chant. His favorite one was after DeSoto beat Festus in the regular season.

Landon Porter will continue his athletics career at McKendree University in wrestling. He is currently 3-0 this season in wrestling as he tries to finish his career at DeSoto with a state championship in the 285-pound weight division.
