Legal Help For Veterans

(Columbia) The University of Missouri School of Law Veterans Clinic is hosting free virtual legal consultations for veterans in select rural counties, including Iron and Reynolds Counties.

The consultations will focus on V-A disability benefits, discharge upgrades, and healthcare.

Angela Drake, director of the Veterans Law Clinic, says if a service member is injured while serving our nation and has problems because of it, the V-A pays them disability compensation.

Her office helps with appeals when the V-A denies coverage for a claim, which she says happens “a lot.”

The free consultations are scheduled for Friday, April 22nd, from 8:00 A-M to 5:00 P-M, but you have to register by this Friday the 15th.
