The 2nd-seeded Lesterville boys basketball team clawed past No. 3 Viburnum at the 28th Annual Valley Caledonia Basketball Tournament championship game with a score of 60-51 Wednesday night on J-98. Lesterville had an early lead with a score of 11-10 at the end of the first quarter, then pushed ahead to a nine-point lead at half time with the help of Brendan Myers.

Myers led the Bearcats with 16 points, with James Gibson just behind with 14 points. Head coach Lee Richardson says it was a game of runs.

J-98 will cover the third place and championship match Thursday with pre-game starting at 3:45 and tip-off at 4 p.m.
