Lesterville Defeats Saint Paul, Earns Second Win of Season
The Lesterville Bearcats got their second win of the season and their first since before Thanksgiving, defeating the Saint Paul Lutheran Giants by a final score of 76-37. Saint Paul would grab the early lead thanks to Jonah Montgomery’s early outburst.
Jonah Montgomery would finish the game with 15 points; however, he along with the rest of the Saint Paul team would not score much after the first quarter as Lesterville would go on a quarter long run that would have them up by 12 at the half.
The second half began with more of the same, thanks in large part to the game Isaiah Twoney would have.
Twoney would finish with a game high 29 points and the lead would continue to balloon for Lesterville, outscoring Saint Paul by double digits in both quarters en route to a 39 point win. Twoney would be named the Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game, also adding 11 rebounds, giving him a double-double for the evening.
For the Lesterville Bearcats, the win was their second of the year as they improve to 2-9. They’ll look to make the streak two in a row on Thursday night as they travel to take on the East Carter Redbirds. Time for tipoff is to be determined.
As for the Saint Paul Giants, the loss drops them to 3-10. They’ll look to turn it around Thursday night at home as they take on the St. Pius Lancers at 7:00 pm.
