The Lesterville R-4 school district is undergoing multiple construction projects, and the board of education has found a way to finance them.

Superintendent James Watts says board president L.J. Hart proposed the sale of lease certificates at Wednesday’s meeting.

The board approved the measure, meaning Watts says, as opposed to donated money, the district is looking for lenders to help with classroom construction and electric updates happening at the district right now.

Watts says while there is a ways to go, they already have some partners.

In other news from the Lesterville school board meeting, the board approved to raise the minimum wage at the district to comply with the state change being made next year.
