Lesterville Volleyball Downs South Iron on MyMoInfo SportStream

(Lesterville) The Lesterville Bearcats defended their home volleyball court tonight as they took down South Iron in straight sets 25-20, 25-23 and 25-12 on the MyMoInfo SportStream. Lesterville controlled the first set as Mallory Polk led the way with 7 kills in the frame but it was Alliyah Myers capping off the final point.

Myers would finish the match with five kills. Set number two was a battle as South Iron led most of the way by 3 points. Lesterville called a timeout and made an adjustment to get the ball going towards the middle more often. Reese Gray would take advantage of that switch and finish off the Panthers in set two.

The Bearcats would go on the win the third set 25-12. Our Applebees of Farmington Player of the Game was Mallory Polk who posted a career high 23 kills and one service ace. Lesterville head coach Betsy Middleton says the adjustment in the latter part of the second set was key in the victory.

Lesterville improves to 14-5-1 and will play at Liberty (Mountain View) next Monday while South Iron falls to 8-6-1 and will play in the Clearwater Invite this weekend.
