Local Basketballer Briar Johnson Commits to William Penn University

(HILLSBORO) From Arcadia Valley to Mineral Area College and then to Jefferson College, female basketballer Briar Johnson has found her next home at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Johnson committed to the NAIA Division 1 School back in April.

 
On Briar’s journey to William Penn, plenty of coaches have had an impact on her. She begins with her high school coach at Arcadia Valley, Adam Waddell.

 
Briar also mentions that she is thankful for her MAC head coach, Gary Koch, and Jefferson College head coach Ashley McGee.

 
William Penn went 30-3 this past season and reached the NAIA Division 1 National Tournament. Briar was certainly attracted to their success as well.

 
The William Penn Statesmen are members of the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
