(Farmington) The Missouri Department of Conservation say hunters in Missouri harvested 8,599 deer during the alternative methods hunting season which just wrapped up Tuesday.
The top harvest county was Franklin with 200 deer harvested.
Last year, 10,038 deer were harvested during the alternative methods hunt.
Locally for the alternative hunt, Bollinger County led the area with 118 deer harvested, Perry County had 102, Jefferson 101 and Ste. Genevieve County had 75 deer harvested in the alternative season.
Other local counties had Dent with 67, Wayne 64, Reynolds 61, Crawford County 60, Washington County 55, St. Francois County 51, Madison had 48 and 36 deer were harvested during the alternative deer hunt in Iron County.
