Local Firefighters Save Horned Owl Stuck in Tree

(Imperial) Firefighters in the Rock Community Fire Protection District responded to an unusual call for service Sunday afternoon on Summerfield Drive in the Imperial area.

Ron Harder is the Public Information Officer for Rock Community Fire. He says fire crews received a call from people in the neighborhood about a possible horned owl being stuck in a tree.

According to Harder a representative from the local World Bird Sanctuary was also notified.

Last update from the bird sanctuary is that the horned owl was doing good and will soon be released back to the wild.

In addition, Harder wanted to give a big thanks to fire crews part of Rock Community’s fire house number 2 on Imperial Main Street.
