(Park Hills) As Monday is the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attack bombing of the U.S.S. Cole which was named after Flat River resident Darrell Cole, our series on the local hero continues.
On Thursday, we told you about Cole’s early days, leading up to his Marine battalion storming the beaches of Guadalcanal, the United States’ first offensive of World War II.
