(Hillsboro) Leadership from several law enforcement agencies are meeting with Jefferson County state legislators to discuss the ongoing problems with the new bail reform laws that allow those committing lower-level crimes from serving any real jail time after being arrested. Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak is hopeful something can be done to help with the ongoing issue at the next legislative session.

Sheriff Marshak says two individuals were arrested last week outside of Festus city limits after breaking into cars, and both of the juveniles were released soon after they were booked into the jail.

The meeting between law enforcement officials and the local state legislators will take place tomorrow (Wednesday).
