We begin with the girls quarterfinals as two seed, and 8th ranked in Class Five, Farmington will take on seven seed Ste. Genevieve. Farmington are 17-3 this season and won a share of the large-school division regular season crown. Farmington coach Rusty Sancegraw thinks his team’s excitement to play basketball is peaking at the right time.

Ste. Genevieve are 7-8. The Dragons defeated 10 seed Valley Caledonia 56-39 in the first round on Saturday.

Next on the girls side are three seed, and 8th ranked in Class Three, West County going against six seed Potosi. West County are 17-3 and 4-0 in conference play. Coach Bobby Simily is hoping the experience on his roster could setup a long run in the tournament.

Potosi are 12-10 this season. The Trojans beat 11 seed Valle Catholic 59-8 in the first round.

We’ll end the evening with the boys quarterfinals. Ste. Genevieve secured the two seed with a 15-4 overall record and a 4-1 record in conference play. Dragons coach Rob Coleman says his kids should have the energy for a long week, but they need to win the mental edge.

Ste. Genevieve will play seven seed Kingston. The Cougars beat Arcadia Valley 59-26 on Saturday. Kingston are 11-9.

Our last game of the night will pit three seed Potosi (16-4) against six seed West County (13-7). The last times these teams played was in the Bob Sechrest Fieldhouse during the Rotary Shootout on December 17th. Potosi won that game 67-58. But that was then. Potosi coach Jackson Conaway tells us what his team has been up to this past week.

West County took down 11 seed Valley Caledonia on Saturday 70-42. The Bulldogs won the small-school division title after beating Valle Catholic on Thursday.
