MAAA Quarterfinals Day Two Preview

(Park Hills) The second day of MAAA tournament quarterfinal play continues Tuesday at the Bob Sechrest Fieldhouse in Park Hills with two more girls games and two more boys games on the MyMoinfo Sportstream.
Ladies go first with 2nd seeded and 16-4 Central taking on 10-10 Potosi. The Rebels beat the 10-10 Trojans by 13 and 20 earlier this season. Central coach Josh Mapes says Potosi will represent the toughest first game they’ve had in his tenure…

Potosi knocked off Valley of Caledonia in the first round 64-23.

The final girls quarterfinal game has 9-8 Farmington against 13-7 Arcadia Valley. The Knights were awarded the three seed and the Tigers the six despite AV blasting Farmington by 23 points earlier this season. Farmington coach Rusty Sancegraw says the Tigers had them on their heels in the first meeting….

Arcadia Valley beat Kingston 66-33 in the first round on Saturday. Coach Kristen Williams says her team executed well in the first meeting with the Knights…

Second seeded and 14-6 North County starts boys play around 7:00 in a meeting with 9-11 Fredericktown. The Raiders escaped Fredericktown with only a two point victory just last week. North County coach Jimmy Palmer tells us why it’s such a competitive matchup….

Fredericktown knocked off West County 69-53 in the first round on Saturday. Coach Joaby Sikes says they’ll be seeing North County at their best…

The final game of quarterfinal action has third seeded and 10-8 Arcadia Valley going against Ste. Genevieve, who is the six seed and 11-9 on the year. The Tigers have beaten the Dragons twice so far this year, by nine and six points. AV coach Ricky Turnbough says his team played well in the first two meetings, but the Dragons have gotten better…
