MAAA Regular Season Crown Goes to the North County Boys with win over Farmington on J98

(Farmington) The North County boys basketball team went on the road and came home with a regular-season conference title as they took down Farmington 83-68 tonight on J98.

With the win, the Raiders finished MAAA Large School regular season play undefeated at (5-0).

The game was tightly contested early, but North County’s Kyle Conkright got red hot in the second quarter and polished off the half with a miraculous play to give his team a comfortable lead.

47-36 was the score at the break in favor of North County.

Conkright poured in 26 first-half points and finished the game with 34.

Farmington was never able to get to within striking distance in the second half as the Raiders kept the Knights at an arm’s length and coasted to the 15-point win.

North County head coach Jimmy Palmer says Conkright and Karter Kekec put their dynamic tandem on full display tonight.

North County improves to (15-1) overall and will be back in action at home on Thursday when they host Valle Catholic.

Farmington falls to (12-6) and (3-2) in MAAA Large School play and will be back at home on Friday when they take on the Jackson Indians.
