(Ste. Genevieve) Ste Genevieve hosts the MAAA Championship and 3rd place games at Leon’s Field this afternoon and we’ll be there to broadcast on AM 800 KREI and mymoinfo.com.
The Dragons will play West County for the championship. Ste. Gen took the regular season championship for the first time in school history and escaped with an 8-7 semifinal win over Central. West County won a pitcher’s duel over Valle Catholic by a score of 1-0 in the semifinals. Coach CJ Wright says Gracie Wright was excellent in the circle.
West County are 12-2.
Central had a lead in the 6th inning in the semifinal against Ste. Genevieve, but couldn’t hold on. The Rebels are 5-4 and coach Taylor Geile feels much better about her team now than at the beginning of the season…
Despite the semifinal loss, Valle Catholic coach Kurt Basler says the Warriors still have something to play for.
Valle Catholic enters the game with a record of 9-3.
