The MAAA volleyball tournament will conclude Thursday night with the semifinals, third place and championship matches on J-98.

All of the top four seeds won twice during Monday’s group play to advance to the championship bracket.

The top-seeded Arcadia Valley Tigers will face off against the fourth-seeded Ste. Genevieve Dragons in the first semifinal of the night.

The Dragons, currently at 16-9-4, defeated cross-town rival Valle Catholic in three sets and Bismarck in two sets to advance to the semifinals.

Head coach Jessica Fallort says both the offense and defense have complimented each other well.

Arcadia Valley enters with a 24-5-1 record and victories over Potosi and Fredericktown earlier in the tournament. This will be the first time these two teams have met this season.
The second semifinal of the evening will feature the second-seeded Farmington Knights facing off with the third-seeded Central Rebels.
The Knights enter with a record of 25-5-1, having defeated both Valley Caledonia and West County in straight sets during pool play.
Head coach Julie Ward thinks her team is peaking at the right time after a couple of convincing wins.

For the 20-6-2 Rebels, they made it through Kingston and North County in consecutive sweeps to reach the semifinals.
Head coach Tracie Casey believes that her team’s success up to this point can be attributed to working together as a team.

You can tune in to the semifinals, third place and championship matches of the MAAA volleyball tournament starting at 3:45 this (Thursday) afternoon on J-98.
