MAC Baseball Starts This Weekend

(Park Hills) The Mineral Area College baseball team throws the first pitch of their season this weekend at Southwest Mississippi in Summit, Mississippi. With winter storm warnings regularly going on in the Parkland this time of the year, MAC spends the first month of season in the south. The Cardinals started last season red hot winning their first nine games. Coach Blake Jones says sophomore shortstop Tommy Van De Sanden will anchor the infield and the lineup…

Van De Sanden hit .335 last year with 42 runs driven in.
Jones will rely on some young arms this year on the pitching staff…

This will be the first full year the Cardinals have been able to use the indoor facility adjacent to Hal Loughary Field. Jones is hoping that will allow them to be a little further along at the start of the season…
