MAC Men Lose to Moberly, 91-65

The Mineral Area College Men’s basketball team fell in the finals of the Region 16 Tournament 91-65 to Moberly in Jefferson City. Moberly scored first and then the Cardinals scored the next 12 points to take a 10 point lead…..

Moberly’s Markelo Sullivan scorched the nets with six first half threes and 24 total points. He led the Greyhounds on a 39 to 14 stretch the rest of the first half. Malevy Leons led the Cardinals with 14 points, all in the second half.
MAC coach Luke Strege says his guys weren’t used to coming from behind and it may have showed….

MAC ends the regular season and Region tournament at 30-2 and await their postseason fate as the NJCAA National Tournament Selection committee will announce the field on March 9th. Moberly won two out of the three meetings with MAC this year. They improve to 26-6 and will play in the District K playoff game Saturday with the winner going to the national tournament.
