MAC Men Win Home Opener 88-67 Over SWIC

(Park Hills) The Mineral Area College men’s basketball team won their home-opener against the Southwestern Illinois Blue Storm Wednesday 88-67 on J-98. SWIC scored first, but MAC quickly answered back with 8 points.

The lead changed hands several times during the first half until the Cardinals started an 11-1 push to take the lead.

In the second half, MAC continued to dominate, leading by as much as 21 points at one time. Angelo Stuart led Mineral Area in scoring.

Stuart scored a total of 23 points and was our Applebee’s of Farmington player of the game. MAC assistant coach Tim Walsh talks about Stuart.

MAC improves to 3-0 on the young season. They’ll travel to Harrisburg, Illinois on Saturday where they’ll take on Southeastern Illinois. You can hear the game on AM-800 KREI immediately following the MAC women’s game. Tip-off for the men’s game will be at 3 o’clock.
