The Mineral Area College men’s basketball team beat Southwest Illinois for the second time in a week, this time 95-75 on the road in Belleville, Illinois. MAC held a 10 point lead halfway through the first half thanks in part to the hot shooting of Keyyaun Batchman.

The Cardinals continued to push the pace and went up by 24 points to close the first half.

MAC put five players in double figures. Batchman scored 21 and Terrion Murdix pitched in 19. Coach Luke Strege says his team is growing and needs to learn from their mistakes.

Mineral Area improves to 5-0 on the season and will host Kennedy King and Highland Friday and Saturday in the Bob Secrest Classic in Park Hills. We’ll broadcast the Saturday game on AM 800 KREI starting with a 6:45 Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show. SWIC fell to 1-2 on the year with both losses to MAC.
