MAC snaps Moberly’s stranglehold on region 16

The Mineral Area College men’s basketball team snapped Moberly’s 28 game regular season region 16 winning streak with a 80-72 at the Bob Sechrest fieldhouse in Park Hills. The Cardinals never trailed in the game and ran to a 12 point advantage in the first half. Moberly pulled to within two in the half, but MAC answered every challenge as displayed by Kevin Stone……….

Angelo Stuart led MAC in scoring with 27 points. Malevy Leons scored 13 and blocked seven shots and Keyyaun Batchman took over point guard duties for an injured Terrion Merdix and scored 15. Luke Strege was proud of the huge win……..

MAC avenged the only loss they have suffered all season and improved to 23-1 and 4-1 in region 16 play. Moberly falls for the first time in 11 games and leaves Park Hills at 20-5 and 5-1 in the region. MAC gets a couple weeks away from region play as they go to West KY Tech and Lindenwood-Belleville and then get back in region play on February 15 at Three Rivers.
