MAC Takes on Jefferson College in Battle of Firsts

(Bonne Terre) Tis the season of firsts for the Mineral Area College men’s soccer team. Mineral Area College, otherwise known as simply, “MAC” play their inaugural men’s and women’s soccer game doubleheader against Jefferson College Saturday at North County High School.

Mineral Area College head coach Dan Martin knows the talent is there on his roster,
but the experience of his squad, well – a different story.

Despite his team’s inexperience on the pitch, Martin is confident that the support from the community Saturday
will have his team’s back.

The opposition figures to be stiff in Jefferson College, but like Mineral Area College, Jefferson College Head Coach Brocklon Chatman
realizes both of his squads are also lacking in experience, but believes the talent is indeed there.

Coach Chatman, like his coaching counterpart Dan Martin, knows his team must play up to his and the Jefferson College
standard come Saturday afternoon.

Regardless of atmosphere and pregame hype, Saturday’s double header between the men’s and women’s soccer programs of Mineral Area College and Jefferson College figures to be a thrilling one. Catch both games beginning at Noon and 2:00pm right here on AM800 KREI.
