The Mineral Area College men’s basketball team shook off a sluggish start against Highland and beat the Cougars 73-55 in the second night of the Bob Sechrest Classic. The Cardinals were down 14 at 33-19 with 2:00 left in the first half. When they finished a 31-3 run five minutes into the second half they were up 14 at 50-36. Kevin Legardy stole the ball in four straight possessions to help fuel the MAC running game…

Legardy also led MAC in scoring with 23 points.

MAC improves to 7-0 on the year and will play again on Tuesday against Western Kentucky Tech. We’ll broadcast from the Bob Sechrest Fieldhouse with a 6:45 Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show on AM 800 KREI. Highland arrived at the Bob Sechrest Classic with a 3-0 record and had just beaten number one Vincennes by three. After suffering some injuries the Cougars lost to both Three Rivers and MAC. MAC beat Kennedy King 86-55 on Friday night at the Classic.
