MAC Women in Indiana, Men Host West Plains

The Mineral Area College basketball teams play in different locations Wednesday just an hour apart. We’ll broadcast the men’s game at home vs Region 16 opponent West Plains starting at 6:45 on AM 800 KREI. The 20-8 men dropped a thriller two weeks ago at West Plains. MAC trailed by 22 points in the second half, but came all the way back to take the lead before losing by one point in overtime. Coach Luke Strege wants to see his guys duplicate that second half effort…

West Plains comes in at 19-9 and have wrapped up the #2 seed in the postseason tournament. MAC is playing for either the four or five seed.

The Mineral Area College women’s basketball team concludes the regular season on Saturday at home against State Fair, but in the meantime they’ll squeeze in one more out of region contest at 6:00 at Vincennes in Indiana. The MAC ladies are 20-7 and have wrapped up the #2 seed in the postseason tournament. The Cardinals beat the Trailblazers 78-55 earlier this season, but as assistant coach Briley Palmer says, this will be MAC’s third game in a five day span without two injured starters…
