The Mineral Area College women dropped their Region 16 opener 96-92 at home against Three Rivers. The Cardinals had their transition game up and running in the first half and took an 11 point lead behind 19 first half points from Masyn McWilliams……

Three Rivers kept coming and hit 15 of 31 three points to turn the 11 deficit into an 11 point lead. Trailing by 11 in the 4th the Cardinals pushed back. Tyeshia Mitchell played smothering defense all game and pulled MAC to within two with under two to play….

McWilliams scored a game high 28. Mitchell pitched in 19. Assistant coach Briley Palmer says the Cardinals played Three Rivers tempo…..

Mac falls to 11-5 on the season and 0-1 in region 16. Three Rivers improves to 13-4 and 1-0 in region play. Next up for the Cardinals is a trip to Vincennes on Tuesday. We’ll have it on Regional Radio.
