Madison Ayers Earns Her Third Basketball Dream Team Honor

(Annapolis) Madison Ayers has cemented her legacy as one of the all-time great athletes to come through South Iron High School by being named to the Regional Radio Girls Basketball Dream Team for the third straight year. Ayers averaged 18 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals for the Panthers this season. She was happy to be get recognized by the area coaches once again…
Ayers broke South Iron’s scoring record this year, finishing with 1,865 career points. She also recorded over 600 career steals and 575 career assists. She’s had some great individual performances, but Ayers had some great teammates, so she wanted to acknowledge the girls that helped South Iron win its 7th straight district championship…
Ayers will continue to play basketball at Mineral Area College this fall and plans to get into nursing. She is very excited to start college and has already been spending some time in Park Hills…
Ayers had two different head coaches at South Iron, Principal Lawrence Graves for three seasons and Jimbo Blackwell this season. But one assistant coach has stayed the same: her dad, Jeff.
Ayers was named the Class 1 Player of the Year by the MBCA for the second straight year and was named all-state all four years.
