Major Fire Over the Weekend in Reynolds County Destroys Numerous Vehicles and a Few Structures

(Ellington) Four structures and 25 vehicles were a total loss in a commercial fire Sunday afternoon in Ellington.

According to a news release from the Northern Reynolds County Fire Protection District, they received the initial call at about 4 o’clock that three buildings were on fire along with multiple vehicles.

Several surrounding fire department and other emergency crews were called to the scene.

Three firefighters were treated at the scene for heat exhaustion.

In all, a total of 16 fire departments, 33 fire apparatus and over 65 firefighters responded.

Fire departments responded from Reynolds County, Washington County, Wayne County, Iron County, St. Francois County and as far away as Jefferson County.

Several ambulance districts were also on hand.

A crew from Black River Electric was even called to the scene.

At this time, the news release did not identify the cause of the fire.
