Malek Touts MOST 529 Savings Plan at Jefferson College
(HILLSBORO)  Missouri State Treasurer Vivik Malek says “MOST”, the state’s 529 education savings plan, is a great way for Missouri families to save and get a tax break towards their child’s future college and trade school expenses. Investments in the plan can be used for a number of educational expenses like tuition, books, supplies, room and board, fees, computers and internet access. Malek was at the Jefferson College Library in Hillsboro Tuesday to speak about and answer questions about the MOST 529 plan.

Malek says Missouri has one of the best 529 plans in the nation.

According to Malek, tax refund season is a great time for parents to set up 529 accounts for their children.  Malek says there are 4,206 MOST accounts in Jefferson County alone with total investment dollars of $1.3 million, or an average of almost twenty five thousand dollars per account.
