McRaven Finishes West County Hoops Career with Third-Straight Dream Team Selection

(Frankclay) One of the all-time West County basketball greats capped off her career in style this season.

Dori McRaven helped lead the Lady Bulldogs to their first district title since 2012 and was named to her third-straight Girls Basketball Dream Team.

She says it means a lot to her to be chosen once again.

McRaven saved her best for last as she averaged 24 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks per game this season.

While the accomplishments on the court are impressive, she is equally impressive off the court as a leader for her school.

McRaven has been in the West County spotlight as a standout athlete from the time she stepped foot on campus and has had the chance to be a role model for the rest of the district.

She says she has fully embraced that opportunity.

The Lady Bulldogs basketball team has averaged 20 wins per season over McRaven’s four-year varsity career.

While the success has been great on its own, she says what has made all the winning so special is having had the West County fans along for the ride.

This season McRaven earned her fourth-straight All-Conference and All-District selections, her second-straight All-State selection, and helped lead the West County girls to a (19-5) record and a Class 3 District 3 championship.

She also finished her career as the all-time leading scorer in West County basketball history for both the boys and the girls teams with 1,884 points.
