McRaven Led West County Girls to Valley Tourney Title, Named Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week

(Frankclay) It was a tremendous week for West County girls basketball as they went 3-0 and captured the championship of the Valley Caledonia Tournament for the first time since 2015 when they toppled South Iron 48-46 in the title game on Saturday.

Not only was it a great week for the team, but Lady Bulldogs’ leader Dori McRaven played lights out and was named our Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week.

West County girls head coach Bobby Simily says McRaven had added motivation this week after having lost to South Iron in the Valley Tournament title game three years in a row.

Across the team’s three wins in the tournament, McRaven averaged 30 points, seven rebounds, five steals, three assists, and two blocks.

She has already earned every accolade in the book as a three-time All-Conference and All-District selection and a two-time Regional Radio Dream Teamer.

Simily says regardless, McRaven has started off her senior season playing with an unmatched fire.

As Athlete of the Week, McRaven will receive a T-shirt, a certificate, and a coupon good for one free entree at Applebee’s in Farmington.
