(Hillsboro) Mercy Hospital’s third COVID-19 drive-through test collection site is set to open Wednesday afternoon at 2 in the parking lot of the Hillsboro Community Civic Center on the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.

John Winkelman is the Community Relations Manager at Mercy Hospital Jefferson. He says in order for people to get tested for the coronavirus, they must first meet the criteria and display certain symptoms.

The purpose of the drive-through testing locations is to prevent unnecessary exposure to patients and caregivers in hospitals and clinics.

The site will be open from 8 am until 4 pm Monday through Friday and is expected to test up to 50 patients daily.

Mercy does have two other COVID-19 drive-through test collection sites outside of Jefferson County.

The first site is located at Mercy Virtual Care Center in Chesterfield.

The second site was opened Monday on the campus of Mercy Hospital Washington in Franklin County.

People who have symptoms and would like to get tested must first call Mercy’s Clinical support line at 314-251-0500 before arriving.
