Mid-Season Spring Turkey Hunt Update

(Potosi) Missouri’s spring turkey hunting season is past the midway point.

Regional Radio just spoke to Washington County conservation agent John Lowe.

He says the season had a rough start but the second half is looking good.

Lowe says turkey hunters in his county have seen decent success so far.

Other spring turkey harvest numbers, with several days still to go, sees Ste. Genevieve County with 484 birds, Crawford has 459, Dent 431 turkeys, Bollinger 384, Jefferson 359, Perry County 324 birds harvested, St. Francois has 253, Wayne 238, Madison County 165 turkeys harvested, Reynolds 128 and Iron County hunters have brought down 124 turkeys.

Franklin County is leading the state with 730 turkeys harvested so far.

Spring turkey season continues through Sunday, May 7th.
