Minor Flooding In Jefferson County, Flood Warning In Effect Until Sunday

(JEFFERSON COUNTY) Jefferson and surrounding counties are under a Flood Warning from now until Sunday, however, it’s not expected to cause any major problems. Mark Fuchs with the National Weather Service in St. Louis says the rising levels of the Mississippi River could cause minor flooding in areas like Arnold and Herculaneum.

We asked Fuchs if the 61/67 bridge over the Joachim Creek in Herculaneum could be impacted.

Fuchs expects the Mississippi River to crest on Thursday evening still at the minor flooding level, however, more significant rainfall to the north over the past few days could change that some.

The current Flood Warning in Jefferson County is scheduled to end on Sunday afternoon. Rising river levels on the Mississippi River will impact the Meramec River in Arnold and the Joachim Creek in Herculaneum.

At the KJFF studios in Festus, we measured just shy of five inches of precipitation for the month of April.
