Missouri Governor Criticizes Federal Coronavirus Aid but Takes Part in Program for His Private Business

(Bolivar) Governor Mike Parson received a nearly 63-hundred dollar federal Paycheck Protection Program loan this year to help sustain his farm in Bolivar.

The Republican governor has criticized federal aid, such as extra unemployment benefits that he says has caused a spike in unfilled jobs.

The Kansas City Star says Parson’s son, who owns Parson Cattle Company, received two 13-thousand dollar loans through the program just this year.

It’s not clear if the governor’s loan was for the same farm as his son’s.
