Missouri Legislative Session Starts Up Wednesday

(Jefferson City) The 2021 Missouri legislative session gets underway Wednesday at the state capitol in Jefferson City.

Missouri Senate President Pro-Tem Dave Schatz of Sullivan says finding funding for the state transportation system will be his priority.

Senator Schatz says lawmakers are looking at different ways to pay for transportation system improvements in Missouri.

Republicans will once again have a super-majority in both chambers for 2021. In the Senate, there are 24 Republicans and 10 Democrats.

For the House, there are 114 Republicans to only 49 Democrats.

The State also has a Republican governor.

This year’s Missouri legislative session is scheduled to run Wednesday through May 30th.
