Missouri Lottery Reports Record Year

(Jefferson City) The Missouri Lottery is reporting its highest-performing year on record.

The numbers for the latest fiscal year show Lottery sales have topped one-point-eight-billion dollars.

Those sales translate into 377 million dollars in proceeds for education making up approximately three to four percent of the state’s funding for public education.

A full 345 million dollars in Lottery proceeds have already been transferred to the education fund this fiscal year, and another 32-point-seven million will be transferred in early July.

The Lottery’s executive director also noted that more than one-point-two billion dollar was paid out to Lottery winners as prizes and Missouri businesses earned 103-million selling Lottery products.
