Missouri Secretary of State on Election Misinformation

(Jefferson City) Thanks to social media, voters have more access to election information than ever before and are exposed to more misinformation and manipulation of messages that ever before.
The Secretary of state in each state oversees election information and Missouri’s Jay Ashcroft says that means creating a safe place for voters to get answers.
Ashcroft says some of the mistakes online can be harmless but cause problems.
One identifier of integrity is the hashtag “TRUSTED INFO 2020” but even that needs to be monitored.
Ashcroft stresses the importance of calling the Missouri Secretary of State’s office to get the right information if something on social media looks sketchy or confusing.
