Missouri State Highway Patrol to step up patrols during Memorial holiday weekend

(Jefferson County) Memorial Day, the unofficial start to summer, is coming up on Monday, May 30th.

Traffic is expected to increase that weekend with a large number of people out travelling across the state.

Corporal Logan Bolton with the Missouri State Highway Patrol says they are going to be stepping up patrols through the holiday weekend.

Corporal Bolton adds the water patrol division will be active through the holiday weekend.

Troopers will be conducting operation C.A.R.E. during the Memorial Day holiday counting period which begins at 6pm on Friday, May 27th and runs through 11:59pm on Memorial Day.
