Missouri Teachers will not receive Covid-19 Vaccine any Sooner

(Jefferson City) Missouri State Health Director Randall Williams says the State does not plan to move teachers up on the priority list for COVID vaccinations.

Right now, the focus is on people age 65 and older and those with underlying health conditions.

Many neighboring states are vaccinating educators in hopes to get more students back to in-person learning.

Teachers are part of Missouri’s Phase 1B Tier 3 and shots are currently being given to those in Tier 2.

Doctor Williams says Tier 3 vaccinations will likely begin in April.

Missouri educators and legislators were urging Williams and Governor Parson to make teacher vaccinations a higher priority.
