(Roselle) The 55th Missouri Whitewater Championships takes place this weekend on the St. Francis River in Madison County.
Becky Ewing is a ranger for the Mark Twain National Forest.
She says this is a really fun event.
Ewing says you can make a day of it by parking at the day use area of Silver Mines Recreation Area.
The Missouri Whitewater Championships, featuring slalom and downriver races, starts Friday afternoon at 4:30, Saturday morning at 9:30 and on Sunday morning, races get going at 8:30.
All the fun takes place at Millstream Gardens and Silver Mines Recreation Area in Madison County.
