Missouri’s Severe Weather Preparedness Week is Coming Up in March

(Missouri) March 1st through 5th is Missouri’s Severe weather Preparedness Week.

It’s during this week the National Weather Service encourages people to plan and prepare for various severe weather events that the spring and summer months bring.

Alex Elmore is a Meteorologist at the National Weather Service in St. Louis. He explains the importance of planning for severe thunderstorms.

Elmore says each day during the week will be focused on a different severe weather theme.

In addition, the Missouri Statewide Tornado Drill will be Tuesday, March 2nd at 10am.

That’s when many people could hear tornado sirens and NOAA Weather Radio will sound an alarm broadcasting a test Tornado Warning.

Again, Severe Weather Preparedness Week is March 1st through 5th.
