Mizzou Football Coach Eli Drinkwitz Speaks At SEC Media Days

(Nashville) S.E.C. Football Media Days kicked off with L.S.U., Texas A&M and Mizzou wrapping up day one of the four-day event from Nashville, the first time that city has hosted this event.

Eli Drinkwitz will begin his fourth season as head coach of Mizzou. The Tigers are coming off back-to-back 6-7 seasons after navigating a 5-5 Covid-19 shortened season. Coach Drink was asked if he thinks progress is being made with the program.

Coach Drinkwitz was also asked how the team finally turns the corner, entering his fourth season as head coach.

Last season’s starting quarterback Brady Cook will be the number one QB heading into fall camp but the job is up for grabs as Drinkwitz will closely watch incoming Miami transfer Jake Garcia and highly touted recruit and sophomore Sam Horn.

Missouri’s football season begins Thursday night, August 31st at 7pm at Faurot Field in Columbia. The Tigers will host South Dakota from the Missouri Valley Conference. The Coyotes had a 3-8 record last season. You will be able to listen to all Missouri Tigers football games on A-M 800 KREI and A-M 1400 KJFF.
