Moderate Drought Conditions Creep Back Into Area

(Farmington) Drought conditions have crept back into parts of the Regional Radio listening area.
In the latest Drought Monitor Map of Missouri, St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve and Jefferson Counties are now experiencing moderate drought conditions, along with the northern slivers of Washington and Crawford counties.
All other counties in the area are currently experiencing abnormally dry conditions.
There is one swath through southern Missouri where conditions have remained normal.
That includes a northwestern chunk of Shannon County.
8-percent of the state, in mid-Missouri near the Missouri River, is experiencing extreme drought conditions.
A new Drought Monitor Map of the Show-Me State is released every Thursday morning by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
