Moderna vaccine fully approved by the FDA

(Hillsboro) Although Covid-19 cases continue to decline across Jefferson County and the state for that matter, there are many that have still not been vaccinated. Jefferson County Health Department Director Kelley Vollmar reminds residents that the Moderna vaccine recently has been fully approved by the Federal Drug Administration, so there are now two solid options for vaccination.

As of last week, nearly 54% of Jefferson County residents have initiated COVID vaccination, while 49.46% have completed the full series. The percentage of residents who have received a third dose or booster vaccine is 18.88%.

Yesterday (Tuesday), the JCHD reported 100 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of positive cases to 52,223 since March of 2020. The total number of active cases is 680, and there have been 472 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
