MoDOT Commission Set to Approve or Deny Road Improvement Projects Planned between 2022-2026 Fiscal Years

(Jefferson County) The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) Commission will vote on to approve or deny several road projects planned by state and regional planning agencies for fiscal years 2022 through 2026.

The planned projects are all part of MoDOT’s Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).

The addition of a third lane on I-55 north and southbound from Route Z to Highway 67 is one of the projects on the draft.

MoDOT Engineer Stephen O’Connor says the project is currently estimated to cost more than 110 million dollars.

O’Connor says MoDOT Commissioners will discuss the STIP Draft in July.

If the project is passed by the MoDOT Commission construction to adding a third lane from I-55 north and south from Route Z to Highway 67 would begin in 2024.
