MODOT Testing New Winter Weather Tool

(Farmington) The Missouri Transportation Department is using a GPS tracking system to help them battle winter weather.

MODOT’s Paul Denkler says the agency is testing an extra feature that makes its operations more efficient.

Denkler says other states see positives from using this tool.

Denkler says the system also gives MODOT early alerts when trucks are having engine problems and other maintenance issues, which also help to save money.
