More COVID Still Possible

(Jefferson City) COVID-19 cases are averaging less than 300 a day in Missouri over the last week, which is a significant decline from the 18-thousand daily cases in late January.

Lisa Cox with the Department of Health and Senior Services says the numbers are headed in the right direction but cautions that “we are not completely out of the woods yet”.

She says Missouri has seen this rollercoaster ride before, including last spring when cases dropped dramatically and everything started to almost get back to normal before the Delta surge hit.

Missouri’s positivity case rate has dropped to 3-point-7 percent in the past seven days.
