(Ironton) Iron County residents will be able to vote Tuesday, April 6th on a proposed increase in the tax levy for road and bridge purposes.

The yes or no question, if passed, would raise the levy from 28-cents to 50-cents per 100 dollars of assessed valuation.

Presiding Commissioner Jim Scaggs says if it passes, there will be enough funding to get some extra road and bridge work in, besides just maintaining roads and bridges in Iron County.

Scaggs and the other two Iron County commissioners held public meetings in all Iron County towns to give citizens complete details about the tax levy increase question voters will be deciding.
