Name released after fatal fire in DeSoto last week

(DeSoto) A press release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has stated the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the victim of the house fire in the 4300 block of Dock Drive is 88-year-old Sally Bene. Bene lived in the home that burned and investigators believe the fire on May 17th was accidental and started in a bedroom. However, the exact cause remains undetermined. The cause of death is still pending, per the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
